Artist of all things rancid. Or not. Regardless if it's a play on words or something literal, there's art here. And that's cool.

Bryant is snowy. And he looks as though he does not want the camera on him.

I’m kind of tired so I don’t have a lot of things to say about this one, but this sketch got veeeery carried away when it came to coloring. Like how it came out, though!

Happy holidays! Hope you all have had a good Christmas/Hanukkah/start to Kwanzaa/whatever keeps you festive this time of year.

I’m gonna scope things out for a couple of days and see how this turns out, buuuut if things don’t end being super ideal based on the adult content crackdown OR you’re jumping ship, follow me on Twitter at RancidArts.

This applies here, too.

And now for something completely different.

A couple of years after the events of the main human!AU saga, Mylo, Scribner, and Moon all enter college. But when their first classes are interrupted by the spontaneous need for a homecoming, they’re forced to confront their newfound baggage head-on.

Although this comic did have some pretty heavy stuff to handle in terms of writing and subject matter, as well as a lot of revisions (last page was recreated right before I lined it) it was fun to show off some lore of the human!AU world besides erroneous jibber-jabber and finally get the chance to draw a really important event for these guys. Even if it’s a little fragmented and sporadic and out of left field.

That being said, I would really like to do more with this chunk of timeline in the human!AU, because it’s not just loaded for these three, but also for a lot of the other characters as well, and those events and this sort of subject matter may lead into where I want to take this blog into the future.

Your regularly scheduled Huevembers will come either today or tomorrow, but I hope you enjoyed this little diversion. Enjoy~

You know, the more I’ve been drawing/writing about Delpha and Bryant’s relationship, the more I find myself enjoying it. And it’s weird, considering all their chemistry pretty much started off as a joke.

I guess it’s just the less they think about the fact that they’re high-level splatlings with a bunch of tension in their home lives and the more they think about… I dunno, finding that they’ve found somebody they can be in solidarity with and just chill out a little, things between them now are pretty alright. Although I can’t say if their relationship goes as far as the extent of Mesonii and Sankra’s relationship (and it might never), they’re still good pals who very much value each other.

Anyway, enough sappiness. I’ve had this idea to draw them facetiming each other from their rooms for a while, and I figured now would be a good time to attempt it. While it’s not exactly what I envisioned in my head, I think it works here, and that works for me.

Sorry I haven’t been too active around here- lots of business. That being said, though, I’m gonna see what I can do to try Inktober this year, since I have a proper gauge on what I can and can’t attempt in a day.

Enjoy!

welcometosquidhell:

It’s every single Inktober conglomerated in a fancy little thing!

In spite of the event tiring me out and the fact that a lot of days didn’t turn out how I’d liked, a part of me is a little sad that it’s over. Overall, though, now we’ve got a nice big bunch of spooky squids (and humans?).

I’ll probably take a little time off to get myself back into the digital swing of thing, and I’ll try my best to keep things updated around here. Speaking of which, I think it’s gonna be time soon for a theme change. Don’t you think so? Too many jarring pinks and blacks.

Enjoy!

Scribner “Lettuce” “Salad” Sisal, or at least his human form, attempting to be a pal.

There are aspects of all of these that I do and don’t like, but generally I’m most pleased with how his doodles with Moon and Bryant came out. He came out okay in the Bennie doodle, but Bennie didn’t turn out 100% himself… bluuuuuh

Sorry I haven’t really been active this month; I’ve been working on a freakishly long piece (I’m pretty sure I’m upwards of 30 hours on it at this point), but I’m gonna push to finish it before the end of the long weekend.

Enjoy!

Oh no! Oh no! Too many hands!

One month, three fixative sessions, five pencils, and an arduous hour of rigging light and cycling through 50+ photos later, I come to you guys bearing the biggest time-stealer I’ve witnessed in a loooong while.

For real, though. I lost track of how much time I’ve spent on this after hour 40.

Stupid graphite.

Anyway! This is sort of a less-metaphorical extension of one of last year’s Inktober drawings (Day 24?, maybe), sort of brought into the humanverse to wreak havoc on poor Human!Bryant. The hands here, though, do indeed have a tether to something- they are his sister’s.

I miiiiiight make some changes to this in the future, depending on how it is received elsewhere and how I feel about it over the coming months, but I think I’m at a point where I can finally call it done. And I think that should suffice for now.

Enjoy!

Eggs!

Anyway, here is something I hacked at over March, a random wallpaper/scenery of some cherry blossom trees and Human!Mesonii and Sankra being fluffy.

I might go back to this later to refine various things, but once again, I think it’s in a state where it can be called finished. I also think I’m getting better at the whole “digital painting” thing, which is nice.

Enjoy!

Human!Brelpha is good and great and I don’t know why I don’t draw it more.

I’ve had this drawing idea in my head for a while- Delphine booping Bryant’s nose, and Bryant looking disgruntled, all while on a rooftop- and I think it came out about 90% of the way I expected it to. Also Jojoba! He’s a cat in the human!AU, and for someone who typically doesn’t draw cats, he turned out not egregiously.

Enjoy!
